The rest of the story...
One of the first dating experiences my wife Carm and I had in a Mopar was when the heater core blew in my 1966 Coronet 500 all over my wifes leg.
We later bought a 1973 Dodge Dart Sport 340 that my wife used as a daily driver. She got me back for the antifreeze incident by backing over something and ripping off one of the factory chrome exhaust tips and dragging it home.
Well moving up to 1999 and our daughter was getting married so decided that we wanted to relive some of the early fun musclecar years and have been attending local car shows regularly so we began a nationwide search for a fully and correctly restored 340 car. I made contact with a place in Colorado who had just what we were looking for and the 1972 Duster 340 you see here became a member of the family. It also had a starring role in our daughters wedding along with a bunch of local streetrods and classic cars.
It is a fully restored, numbers matching car with Factory Stripe package, black vinyl buckets with Interior Decor Package, Rallye Wheels, Tuff Steering Wheel, Power Steering, 3.55 Sure-grip, Manual Drum Brakes and factory Hurst 4-Speed and GB-5 True Blue Metallic paint. The car is an Export Model but was never out of the country. You will notice it has 71 style center caps as it was an early export model and used up some of the leftover caps from the previous model year, so since it came from the factory that way I have never changed it.
The car was built at the factory the week I turned 18. We are the third owners and I have all the paperwork, broadcast sheet and complete restoration records. We have won lots of trophys and the car is an absolute pleasure to own and drive. It is always a big hit at local cruises and shows. It was a feature article in the October 2000 issue of High Performance Mopar magazine on pages 80 and 81. Although we get offers to sell, it is remaining a permanent family member. We are married 26 years and love our Mopars.
